Throughout its 47 years of commercial train operations, the Tokaido Shinkansen has maintained a flawless record of no passenger fatalities or injuries due to train accidents such as derailment or collision.
While operating 323 ultra-high speed services a day that run at 270km/h, we have maintained reliability with an average delay of just 0.6 minutes, as well as a high level of safety.
